The Outstanding Teen Program is an important component within the Miss North Carolina Scholarship Program. We have some exciting activities planned for our Outstanding Teen participants every year, and look forward to the bonds created with our Miss Capital City, Miss Clayton, and Miss Cleveland sisterhood of titleholders. Please encourage friends and neighbors of your Miss, Outstanding Teen, and Carolina Princess to consider the program as well, as it builds relationships and experiences that last a lifetime. During orientation, the Outstanding Teen and her parent(s) will also receive details of the activities planned and the expectations for them at Miss North Carolina’s Outstanding Teen in April if they are crowned on March 2, 2019.

Fundraising in our community is how we support our scholarships and continue to grow the program for these young women. Each year, we provide two major methods for achieving our fundraising goals:

Program Ads

  • All Miss and Outstanding Teen candidates and Carolina Princesses are encouraged to sell ad space to their community sponsors and supporters. Ads should be submitted electronically for publication in the pageant program. Ads can be uploaded directly via our website where you upload your paperwork. The deadline for receiving ads is 5:00 pm on February 21, 2019. Ads will be sized according to the space purchased.
  • Ad prices for sponsors and supporters are as follows:
    • $100 for full page   $60 for half page   $40 for quarter page
      • Parents of Outstanding Teens may purchase ads at half  price ($50 for full page   $30 for half page   $20 for quarter page).

Raffle Tickets

  • All Miss and Outstanding Teen candidates and Carolina Princesses are asked to sell raffle tickets. This giveaway is very popular each year, as there are multiple chances at winning. Winners will be drawn at the pageant, although they do not need to be present to win. Please be sure to record a name and phone number on the tickets provided so that we may contact them if they are not present. Prizes for this raffle are a Coach purse, a new iPad and an MHR jewelry set.
  • Raffle ticket prices are: $5 for 1 ticket or $20 for 5 tickets.

Outstanding Teen Program as a Local Titleholder

Outstanding Teens are required to attend “Work Weekend.”

  • March 15-16, 2019 at Cleveland High School in Clayton for Outstanding Teen titleholders

Participation in the Miss North Carolina’s Outstanding Teen Competition comes next, in April 2019 in High Point. There may be additional costs associated with Work Weekend and the MNCOTeen Competition, and more information will come from the state program after our crowning in March. Titleholders will also be expected to attend events and appearances throughout the year, building the mentor relationship and skills through the sisterhood.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Will I be able to attend rehearsals?
    • All rehearsals are closed. No parents will be allowed inside the auditorium during rehearsal. You may wait in the lobby of The Clayton Center or visit one of the many restaurants and shops in downtown Clayton.
  • Who can come backstage on the night of the competition?
    • No parents are allowed backstage before or during the pageant. When arriving on pageant day, there will be someone to meet you at the backstage door to check in your daughter and take her things backstage.
    • At the conclusion of the pageant, you will need to immediately come backstage to pick up your daughter and her belongings. No males will be allowed backstage at any time.
  • What if I would like for my daughter to participate, but we do not know a Carolina Princess candidate?
    • This is not a problem, we will be happy to pair you with a Carolina Princess from our recruiting to make sure the mentor process starts off and a great relationship can grow.
